Already on the Peruvian side of the Titicaca lake, and not far from Puno, a bastion of ancient times can be found: the Uro's floating islands. First used by some tribes to avoid the Inca invasions, there are still up to 70 of them.
A bit further away, the islands of Amantari and Taquile have a relatively large number of people (4000 and 3000 thousand people, respectively) living in conditions relatively close to their ancestors. I had the chance to live with one family of Amantari and learn more about their culture. I add here a picture of all of them.
The city of Puno itself has also some touristic attractions. Among them all, the 16th century Cathedral that looks very nice just after the sunset.
